There are two ways that you may find yourself in need of our services.  If your pet becomes ill or is injured when your primary care veterinarian is closed, we are available to see your pet.  No appointment is necessary.  Another scenario is when your pet is hospitalized with your primary care veterinarian and requires intensive monitoring and treatment overnight.  In that case, your veterinarian will contact us with a referral to provide the information necessary to facilitate continuity of care for your pet.  Once your pet is under our care, we will discuss all aspects of your pets care with you and contact you if his/her condition changes.  When you transfer your pet back to your primary care veterinarian the next morning, our veterinarian will contact your primary care veterinarian to discuss any changes that have occurred overnight.  This is meant to eliminate gaps in your pets care and will avoid duplicating tests or missing important treatments.

When possible, please call us prior to your visit.  This will enable us to provide advice and be prepared for your arrival.  If your pet’s condition is so serious that there is no time for a phone call, no call is necessary.
