Dr. Byron Hawkins, Co-Owner and Chief of Staff

 

Dr. Hawkins graduated from the University of Georgia, College of Veterinary Medicine in 1984.  Since graduation he has dedicated his career to Emergency and Critical Care Medicine.  He started as an associate veterinarian at the Cobb Emergency Veterinary Clinic and in 1986 was appointed hospital director and Chief of Staff.  He and Dr. FitzGerald purchased the Animal Emergency Center in March of 2002.

Dr. Ashley Owens, Associate Veterinarian

 

Dr. Owens has worked in emergency medicine since graduating from the Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998.  She moved to the Atlanta area in 2001 and worked at the Cobb Emergency Veterinary Clinic.  She joined the team of the Animal Emergency Center in July of 2002.     

 

Dr. Gerald FitzGerald, Co-Owner
 
Dr. FitzGerald graduated from the University of Georgia, College of Veterinary Medicine in 1993.  He completed a 13 month internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts in 1994 (now  the Angell Animal Medical Center) and has worked in emergency and critical care with Dr. Hawkins ever since.  He purchased the Animal Emergency Center of North Fulton with Dr. Hawkins in March of 2002.
